Netflix on PS3...Disc-free at Last

Beginning this Monday, October 18, Sony will be ditching the necessary disc in order to provide us gamers with a disc-less Netflix experience. Not only will we be able to start up Netflix and stream movies instantly, but the whole interface is being beefed up. This will lend to much quicker playback times and easier browsing. We are also being promised 1080p high definition and 5.1 surround sound...it's about dang time! Having all three current gen consoles, I have the luxury of being able to compare the streaming Netflix feature between the three of them. I was shocked at just how janky the PS3's was. I had much preferred using the 360 to watch my movies and shows, but we will see if that changes. I heard something about a search function being included with the upgrade, something that all three consoles are currently lacking. If you want a sneak peak, check out the video at the following link. Apparently Canada got the update back in September..darn you Canada!

Getting Up There

My gamer score is getting pretty high. I've seen much higher, but considering the amount of free time that I have I'm pretty happy with my score! It will be a great day when I break 20,000.

Surprisingly Fun

I haven't been playing many games lately. This is mainly due to me being so busy with a new round of classes recently. Ok, truth is, I'm broke! After claiming that I do not usually play games based off of movies, TV shows, or books..I had the strong urge to play Toy Story 3. Could have been that I was drawn in by the bright colors. This game was simply ALOT of fun! It had a fair amount of platforming, which is always fun. There was also a sandbox style game mode. I spent a good few hours running around in this mode completing various missions that were extremely easy, but fun nonetheless. A certain level/area of the game involved a number of different missions where you are riding around in a either a tiny car or a sort of monster truck. My four year old son, Riley really enjoyed driving the car around. He typically has a rough time with the analog sticks, but in this game the controls were so easy he had a good time. I sort of wanted to go for all the achievements, but ended up with most of them. I could have had 1000/1000 if I wanted to tough out all the item collection after I beat the game.
